Pre-Conference Workshop on Consumer Privacy at ACR 2023

There will be a free breakfast and pre-conference workshop on Consumer Privacy the
morning of Thursday, October 26th. The purpose is to discuss, develop, and refine ideas for the
upcoming special issue of JACR on Consumer Privacy prior to the initial submission deadline of
April 1, 2024 (call for papers).

The workshop will be informal and interactive—early stage projects are welcome, even if little
or no data has been collected yet. Below is the tentative schedule:

8:30am – 9:00am Buffet breakfast (Willow Room, Sheraton Grand Seattle)

9:00am – 9:15am Editors’ overview of the JACR special issue on Consumer Privacy

  • Aaron R. Brough (Utah State University)
  • Kelly D. Martin (Colorado State University)

9:15am – 9:45am Industry perspective on Consumer Privacy

  • David Evans, Senior Manager of Research + Insights at Microsoft

9:45am – 10:45am One-on-one idea feedback (speed dating format)

10:45am – 11am Concluding group discussion

11am – 11:30am Social linger longer

We hope you will consider attending. If you would like to participate, please email a 50-word
description of your idea to aaron.brough@usu.edu by October 13, 2023.

Please pass this information along to anyone you know who is working on privacy-related
research and may be interested.

Best,
Aaron, Kelly and Bernadette
