David B. Wooten - ACR's EDI Champion
Dear ACR Members,
We all owe Tiffany White a huge thank you for her service as ACR's first Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Champion. She has worked with the conference chairs and various other teams to ensure EDI issues have a voice on the ACR Board. She has supported numerous initiatives including the mentorship program. Given her growing responsibilities, she has stepped down from her role recently.
I am delighted to announce that the ACR Board has approved the appointment of Dr. David B. Wooten as our incoming EDI Champion. In that role he will lead our relationship with the PhD Project and support other EDI initiatives within the organization.
David Wooten is Alfred L. Edwards Collegiate Professor, University Diversity and Social Transformation Professor, and Professor of Marketing at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. His research focuses on self-presentation and social influences on consumption. His work has appeared in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Consumer Psychology, Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Consumer Psychology Review, Marketing Letters, and other scholarly outlets. He is an associate editor for Research Reports for the Journal of Consumer Psychology, an editorial review board member for the Journal of Consumer Research and the Journal of Sport Management, and a member of the scientific advisory committee for the Consumer Psychology Review.
