ACR Fellow and Founder, Dr. Jag Sheth has been honored by India's Prime Minister with the Padma Bhushan Award
One of our very own - ACR Fellow and Founder, Dr. Jag Sheth has been honored by India's Prime Minister with the Padma Bhushan Award in recognition for his international contributions to education. It is given for "distinguished service of the highest order ..."
This is one of the highest civilian awards accorded by the Indian government and Dr. Sheth is the first marketing scholar to be recognized with this award.
When reached for comment after his award was announced on January 26, 2020, Dr. Sheth said, “I am truly humbled and grateful for the Padma Bhushan Award. My academic career began in consumer behavior with the publication of the theory of buyer behavior more than 50 years ago. Today, consumer behavior is a stand alone discipline largely due to the formation of ACR. As one of the cofounders of ACR, I am simply amazed how far we have come from the humble beginnings.”
Please join ACR in congratulating Dr. Jag Sheth whose contributions to ACR and our field in general are very well known, but whose global impact on education may be less recognized among our members.
