What Drives Consumer Adoption of Electric Vehicles? a Country-Level Analysis and an Implicit Association Test of Gender Perceptions With Electric Vehicles

A country-level analysis reveals a positive relationship between femininity of national cultures and EV market share. An implicit association test shows that consumers associate EVs with femininity. The insights offer novel implications to increase EV adoption.
