Justified By Ideology: Why Conservatives Care Less About Corporate Social Irresponsibility
Building on political psychology and system justification theory, four studies show that conservatives’ (compared to liberals) relatively high market system justification (MSJ) results in less critical CSR perceptions of irresponsible companies and, in turn, in less penalizing reactions. The effect is less strong for the evaluation of responsible companies.
