Beyond Subjectivity: Competing Governance Regimes and the Socio-Material Construction of Rational Consumer Action
We propose a model that conceptualizes different degrees and modalities of rationality in consumer choice as an outcome of ‘performation struggles’ (Callon 2007) between devices and discourses, produced by different organizations, and shaped by organization-specific information on consumers, interpretative frames and organizational aims.
