‘Land of History and Romance’: Consuming Nostalgia Through the British Italian Cookbook

In this paper we build on debates surrounding the role of nostalgia in consumption. We provide an interpretive analysis of British Italian cookbooks from across the 51 year period 1954-2005 exploring the ways in which their authors evoke past times, people and places in their promotion of Italian cuisine.
