2017 ACR Conference - Doctoral Symposium

2017 ACR Doctoral Student Symposium
Thursday, October 26
  • The ACR Doctoral Symposium (co-chaired by Lauren Block and Markus Giesler), offers an opportunity for doctoral students to meet each other and develop relationships with faculty across a wide variety of institutions and at various stages of their careers.
  • Small group and panel discussions will cover the research process and research careers, alternative metrics of career success and striking the quality-of-life balance between teaching and research.
  • The Symposium will be held from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday, October 26.
  • Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to network with one another, hear from world-class faculty, add new tools to their toolbox, receive feedback on their research, and think broadly about their research and career goals.
  • Students may sign up for the Symposium when they register for the conference; no formal application is required.
  • For more information about the symposium, please contact Lauren Block (Lauren.Block@baruch.cuny.edu) or Markus Giesler (mgiesler@schulich.yorku.ca).
