Opening the Black Box: an Exploration of Consumer Production Influence on Marketplace Dynamics

Our study advances consumer researchers’ understanding of consumer production. Through a meta-analysis of existing studies on consumers value creating activities, we identified three ways in which consumer production influences marketplace dynamics: through marketplace creation, actualization and reproduction of the marketplace, and marketplace destruction.
