Academy of Marketing Science (AMS) :
  The Academy of Marketing Science is a full-service scholarly professional organization that offers annual conferences with dissertation and student paper awards, and a Marketer of the Year award; a refereed scholarly Journal (Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science); a quarterly member newsletter; and copyrighted (refereed) Proceedings of the Annual Conference. Members receive the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science and the AMS newsletter containing information on news and upcoming conferences. Student Fellow memberships are $35.00 per year. American Academy of Advertising (AAA):
  Grants discounts of the Journal of Advertising. Members of the Academy receive the AAA Newsletter as part of their membership dues. The Newsletter is designed to keep members up-to-date on activities of the Academy and to share information between members regarding their activities. Members of the Academy receive a copy of the Annual Proceedings of the Academy as part of their membership dues. The Proceedings contain papers presented during the Annual Conference of the Academy, or abstracts of these papers. Academy members may also apply for Fellowships awarded each year through the Academy's Industry Fellowships Committee. American Economic Association (AEA):
  Membership includes three quarterly publications/journals, plus the Papers and Proceedings and Survey of Members. Members may access the journals online, participate in and vote at the annual business meeting, and vote in the election of officers. Journals include the American Economic Review (AER), Journal of Economic Literature (JEL), Journal of Economic Perspectives (JEP), and Papers and Proceedings (P&P) of the annual meeting published in. The Survey of Members is published in December every four years as number 6, AER. The next Survey is scheduled for publication in December 2001. All three AEA journals are available online for personal use at no additional charge to AEA members (access available after records updated). Student Membership is $30.00 per year. American Psychological Association (APA):
  Graduate students taking courses in psychology are eligible for participation in APA as Student Affiliates. Membership includes reduced rates on APA journals and books, the ability to order journals and get free online access to that journal, discounts on APA conference fees, and good rates on a variety of insurance products. Members also receive Monitor on Psychology, the APA magazine containing news of the discipline and the American Psychologist, the APA journal covering issues and trends that affect all of psychology. Students who join APA are automatically be enrolled in APAGS-- The American Psychological Association of Graduate Students (APAGS). Their Web site (www.apa.org/apags) and Newsletter contains information on internships, funding opportunities, federal and state advocacy, and issues of concern to specific student groups (e.g. ethnic minority students, etc.). APAGS provides services, such as topical listservs, student-specific symposia at APA's Annual Conference, and answers to questions relating to the education and training of psychologists. Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS):
  Offers a variety of publications and books including Marketing Science, Management Science, and Organization Science. INFORMS also offers discounts on affiliated or related publications. The organization sponsors large national and international meetings as well as smaller special interest meetings, including the Marketing Science conference typically held in July. Members receive a membership directory, printed every three years and updated on-line quarterly. Members can also access an Annual Comprehensive Index based on the International Abstracts in Operations Research. This searchable database contains more than 19,000 bibliographic entries going back to 1982. The journals include all ORSA/TIMS journals from 1982 to 1987 and approximately 150 ORSA/TIMS/INFORMS and other journals since 1988. The Group Insurance Program provides members with seven insurance plans, including life and health insurance. Credit Card Services through MBNA, offer the INFORMS Platinum Plus MasterCard are also offered to members. Benefits include no annual fee, exclusive access to travel services, and a low introductory APR. Society for Consumer Psychology (SCP):
  Students with an interest in the psychological dimensions of consumer behavior should consider joining SCP. Each year the Society sponsors a national conference program immediately preceding the Winter American Marketing Association (AMA) conference (February), an Advertising and Consumer Psychology Conference in conjunction with advertising agencies or companies (May), and a national conference program in conjunction with the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association (APA) (August). SCP Publications include the Journal of Consumer Psychology, the SCP Newsletter: The Communicator (now published online), the Advertising and Consumer Psychology book Series, and conference proceedings. Membership dues are $30 for students and include subscription to the Journal of Consumer Psychology, published 6 times a year and The Communicator, the Society's Newsletter. Membership in the Society for Consumer Psychology does not require membership in American Psychological Association or the American Psychological Society. SCP Major conferences: • SCP conference- Typically held in February (historically, held with Winter AMA Conference) • Advertising and Consumer Psychology conference- Typically held in May. Each conference deals with a specific aspect of advertising.

Society for Judgment and Decision Making (SJDM):
  An interdisciplinary academic organization dedicated to the study of normative, descriptive, and prescriptive theories of decision making. Its members include psychologists, economists, organizational researchers, decision analysts, and other decision researchers. Membership includes newsletters, membership directory, the ability to vote in elections, and discounts to several journals including Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Behavioral Decision Making, and Risk, Decision, and Policy. Members are also eligible for discounted membership dues in the American Psychological Society. Members can also search the reference archive and examine course syllabi. Membership for students is $5.00/year. SJDM Major Conferences: • Society for Judgment and Decision Making Annual Conference- typically held in November. • Behavioral Decision Research in Management- held every other year
