Transformative Consumer Research

Transformative Consumer Research is a movement within our association that seeks to encourage, support, and publicize research that benefits consumer welfare and quality of life for all beings affected by consumption across the world.  This section of the ACR website includes information about symposia, research funds, publications, and other resources and opportunities for scholars wishing to be involved in Transformative Consumer Research via the Association for Consumer Research.  Click on the links below to learn and to participate more.  If you have any questions or suggestions about Transformative Consumer Research, including information on and development of this website section, please contact:

  • The Second Conference on Transformative Consumer Research took place June 28-30, 2009 at Villanova University; for follow-up information contact: Ron Hill (Ronald.hill@villanova.edu), Julie Ozanne (jozanne@vt.edu), or Madhu Viswanathan (mviswana@uiuc.edu).
  • A forthcoming book, titled Transformative Consumer Research for Personal and Collective Well-Being, will be published by Routledge/Taylor & Francis in summer 2011; co-editors: David Mick, Simone Pettigrew, Connie Pechmann, and Julie Ozanne.
